CounselOS for · Managing partners & principals

Practice management for managing partners who need the full picture

Managing partners and principals need firm health at a glance — work in progress, trust exceptions, limitation dates, and what requires sign-off today. CounselOS puts that on one dashboard and one approval inbox: AI drafts, billing narratives, trust authorisations, and portal content. Migration from FilePro or LawMaster includes validation reports before you commit to cutover. Governed AI stays inside firm policy with audit logs; you approve what reaches clients.

Pain points we hear

Workflows on a typical matter

Monday dashboard

Review WIP, utilisation, matters over budget, upcoming limitation dates, and the approval inbox before the team arrives.

Approvals queue

Clear conflict releases, trust movements, AI client updates, and billing narratives from one inbox — not three modules.

Migration sign-off

Row-count, trust balance, and validation reports support your decision to go live after a FilePro or LawMaster import.

AI policy

Set firm AI rules, review audit logs, and ensure client-facing content only leaves after fee earner approval.

How CounselOS helps

Partners get oversight without micromanaging every file: one dashboard, one inbox, honest migration tooling, and AI that accelerates work under professional responsibility — not around it.

Relevant capabilities

Firm dashboard

WIP, utilisation, exceptions, and dates in one view — designed for principals who run the firm, not only their own matters.

Approval inbox

AI, time, trust, and portal items queue for partner sign-off before clients or regulators see them.

Migration validation

Assisted FilePro and LawMaster imports with reports you can review with your accountant before cutover.

Responsible AI governance

Firm policy, citation checking, and audit trails — see our Responsible AI page for the full model.

CounselOS is rolling out with Australian firms. Trust accounting, e-sign, bank feeds, and office accounting (Xero/MYOB) are enabled per firm after onboarding — we will confirm what is live on your account before you rely on it.

Common questions

How long does migration take?

We target five business days from export to operational for typical FilePro and LawMaster firms, depending on data quality. Your sign-off is required before go-live.

Can we run parallel before cutover?

Many firms trial load a subset of matters first. We will map a parallel plan in your migration assessment.

What does per-firm pricing mean for partners?

Tiers scale by fee earners and matter volume, not per-seat add-ons for every admin. See Pricing for current plans.
